Pre-send checklist: the eight two-minute questions

Once the button is pressed, nothing can be undone: the message is sent, the conversation is charged, and the audience’s reaction is already happening. A two-minute review beforehand prevents most errors that cost numbers, money, and reputation.

The minute before sending is the cheapest to fix

Once the button is pressed, nothing can be undone: the message is sent, the conversation is charged, and the audience’s reaction is already happening. A two-minute review beforehand prevents most errors that cost numbers, money, and reputation.

And it’s not a bureaucratic ritual: these are eight objective questions, all answered with yes or no.

The eight questions

  • Does the list have opt-in? Where did these contacts come from and when.
  • Have those who opted out been removed? Including from the last send.
  • Does the text identify the company in the first line?
  • Is the offer related to what this list was looking for?
  • Is the timing within the window defined by the company?
  • Is the template in the correct category?
  • Is the number quality green and does the limit accommodate the volume?
  • Can the team handle the responses that will come?

The last one is the most forgotten

Sending that generates more responses than the team can handle produces irritated leads — and leads approached but left hanging are the ones who block the most. Service capacity needs to limit the send size, not the other way around.

Send first to yourself

Before the list, send to two or three numbers on your own team and read it on your phone. Broken formatting, unfilled variables, cropped images, and wrong links show up in this thirty-second test.

Start small even when confident

Send to ten percent of the list, wait an hour, and observe delivery and reaction before releasing the rest. If something is wrong, the damage was limited to ten percent.

What to check afterward

Delivery, response, opt-outs, and quality, twenty-four hours later. This record allows you to know which campaign can be repeated and which harmed the number.

Where to start

Print the eight questions and stick them on the desk of whoever sends. Adopt the ten percent rule before the full send. These are two habits that cost minutes and prevent the most expensive operational errors.

Frequently asked questions

What to check before sending a WhatsApp campaign?

Eight questions: whether the list has opt-in and where the contacts came from, whether those who opted out were removed, whether the text identifies the company in the first line, whether the offer relates to what this list was looking for, whether the timing is within the defined window, whether the template is in the correct category, whether the number quality is green and the limit accommodates the volume, and whether the team can handle the responses that will come. The last is the most forgotten: leads approached but left hanging are the ones who block the most.

Sending to ten percent and waiting an hour costs almost nothing.

VeyloCRM allows sending in batches, monitoring delivery and reaction in real time, and stopping the campaign midway if something goes wrong.
