WhatsApp for electronics stores

By VeyloCRM · · 3 min read

Headphones, smartwatches, laptops, TVs, speakers, consoles: electronics shoppers research a lot, compare model by model and, before buying, want to ask someone a question. More and more, that conversation happens on WhatsApp, and on Black Friday and at Christmas the volume of messages skyrockets.

What customers ask

Almost every conversation at an electronics store starts with one of these questions:

If the answers to these five questions are ready, the salesperson replies in seconds and spends their time on what actually closes the sale: understanding what the customer needs and recommending the right product.

Catalog with price and stock

Keep the most popular products in the WhatsApp catalog, with photo, cash price, installment price and main features. On Black Friday, update prices every day and remove what has sold out. Nothing annoys customers more than asking for a product from the catalog and hearing it is not available.

Reply within minutes

On Black Friday customers send the same question to three or four stores. Whoever replies first, with price and availability, usually wins. To do that:

  • all salespeople answer the same number, each with their own queue;
  • AI instantly answers questions about price, stock, hours and delivery, and hands over to a salesperson when the customer wants to buy;
  • labels separate "quote", "awaiting payment", "after-sales" and "repairs".

Help them compare

Electronics shoppers are afraid of choosing wrong. A short message comparing two models side by side (screen, battery, memory, price) sells more than a link to the spec sheet. Set up quick replies for the most requested comparisons of the season.

Always show both options: "R$ 2,399 with Pix or 10x of R$ 259.90 interest-free". Send the payment link or the Pix key in the conversation itself and confirm the payment right there. Every extra step, like "come pay at the store", is a chance for the customer to buy somewhere else.

Warranty and trust

A season full of deals also brings plenty of scams. Customers want to be sure they are talking to the real store. A number with a verified business name, the invoice sent over WhatsApp and the warranty explained in writing give the confidence that closes the sale.

Delivery and pickup

Tell customers in the chat the delivery time by neighborhood or city and the option to pick up at the store. Send the out-for-delivery notice and the ready-for-pickup notice through WhatsApp itself. Customers stop calling to ask "where is my order?".

Follow-up with people who did not buy

Many people ask the price and disappear. On Black Friday and at Christmas, a reminder the next day ("The headphones you looked at yesterday have 12 units left at the Black Friday price until Sunday") recovers a good share of those sales. With the CRM, the list of people who asked and did not buy shows up on its own.

After-sales and repairs

People who buy electronics come back: they need an accessory, screen protector, case, cable, repairs or a second device. Keep in the CRM what each customer bought and offer the right accessory a few days later. It is an easy sale with good margins.

An example

A phone and electronics store in Recife, with four salespeople, handled WhatsApp on two phones. Before Black Friday it moved to the official API with a CRM, set AI to answer price and stock questions, and created a next-day follow-up for people who asked and did not buy. Average response time dropped from about 40 minutes to under 2, and WhatsApp sales in Black Friday week were 2.3 times those of the previous year.

Numbers to track

  • time to first reply;
  • conversations that turned into sales;
  • sales that came from follow-up;
  • accessory sales to people who already bought.

Common mistakes

Outdated catalog, price only "in private", several salespeople on the same phone, leaving messages unanswered at night and on Black Friday weekend, and forgetting to contact people who asked the price and did not buy.

Frequently asked questions

Can an electronics store handle Black Friday with the WhatsApp Business app on a phone?

With a few conversations a day, yes. In a store with several salespeople and dozens or hundreds of messages a day, the phone becomes a bottleneck: there is no queue, two salespeople answer the same customer and other customers get no reply. With the official API and a CRM, everyone answers the same number, every conversation has an owner and nothing gets lost.

The bottleneck is almost never the team. It’s the time until the first response.

VeyloCRM responds to leads instantly with your own language, organizes each conversation in the CRM, and keeps ready messages at the team’s fingertips — on WhatsApp, Instagram, and Messenger.
